When people ask me what I do for fun, I have a difficult time coming up with an answer. It’s not because I don’t have fun, I do. The question isn’t as easy to answer as it was when I was little. I could say ballet, jazz, hip-hop dance, pilates, show choir, choir, rap… Now, I’m not in any “organized” activity. I hang out with friends, watch a lot of Netflix & Hulu, work, work, and some more work, do laundry, dishes, clean the house, pull weeds in the yard, and snuggle with all the animals in the house. We have stuff going on during the weekends, but nothing can be considered a legit hobby.

When my mom came to visit this spring, we started to make a wreath for our front door. After she left, I finished it up. I felt pretty proud of this accomplishment, however small it was.

My friend, Kirsten, started embroidering. I used to cross stich when I was little and thought this would be fun. So, tonight, I made my first embroidered thing! I’m going to give it away as a gift, so until I do, I won’t post a photo.

I like crafts that are useful and have a purpose. I don’t want to get into it so much my house gets cluttered. So, I’m excited to start doing more embroidery – some gifts that are useful or some stuff that has a place in my house.

What do you do for fun? Has it been difficult to find a hobby since you’ve been adulting? Comment below!
