10 (1)Today’s challenge from Ruth Soukup‘s 10 Day Unstuffed Challenge was to take an honest look at the cause of clutter and to get rid of 10 things from our house.

On Sunday, we’ll celebrate one year in our new home!! Most of the house is pretty clear of clutter. We tried and still try to be very intentional about what we bring into the house. But there are still corners and closets that have things we haven’t touched in a year and we don’t need.

Today, I took the challenge and picked 10 items from my closet I no longer wear to donate. The closet was an easy place to start. It’s pretty organized, but I tend to keep clothes for a long time because I don’t purchase new clothes on the regular. It’s nice to not spend a lot of money on clothes each year, but it also means I keep a lot of clothes I don’t actually wear.

Here are the 10 things I’m getting rid of

  • 2 pairs of jeans
  • 2 shirts from a previous job
  • 1 jacket my friend gave me (that she was getting rid of) I haven’t worn in more than four years
  • 1 scarf
  • 1 t-shirt from a 5K (I have two)
  • 2 cardigans that fit weird
  • 1 sweater

Total: 10!

What are 10 things in your house that are taking up space you no longer need?

Great job, Margot! It’s been on my mind the past week or so to purge my closet. I’m going to see if I can carve out a few minutes tomorrow to at least find 10 things to donate.

You can do this! :) I went through my closet a month or so ago, but still found things I was keeping for “someday” or “maybe”. I haven’t used them since so out they went. Good luck in your closet!
